In response to a FOI request, the following information has been received:

I am writing in response to your request below. I have checked with the relevant dept. and can now advise that Salford Council did not provide a response to this consultation. The reason for this being that it was felt that the previous consultation conferences had taken on board the comments made by LA's and the document was as expected.

Comments:

A number of LAs have now responded that they did not answer the consultation because they had already had previous consultation with DfES/DCSF and that they were content with the draft or had nothing to add. It seems that many of those who did respond were those with protest or concerns who wish the guidelines to do more than describe the current law, to enable them to register and monitor home educators more closely. It seems Salford was not one of those?
