In response to a FOI request, the following information has been received:

Further to your recent request for information.   Unfortunately we do not hold the information that you have requested.

Shropshire LA has not taken part in the consultaion in respect of Elective Home Education. However we are actively involved in the wider consultation through the West Midlands forum which the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) has been present at and through other avenues such as Children Missing Education (CME).

Shropshires policy and procedures are in line with the DCSF guidelines. Issues that we have raised as of concern are those that conflict with CME requirements, safeguarding issues and the absence of  minimum education requirement guidelines .

Comments:

 A number of LAs have responded that they did not take part in the formal consultation but that they were being consulted over a long period by other means, such as the forum mentioned above. The response of the West Midlands forum can be found in files, from the "other" responses page.
